About Me
My passion for connecting with and supporting others is a journey that stretches from my childhood dreams to the present.
Hi, I'm Idil
My passion for connecting with and supporting others is a journey that stretches from my childhood dreams to the present. As a little girl, I wanted to be a florist - perhaps the purest form of wanting to help people feel better. This dream later evolved into a deep interest in psychology. This passion has become an unwavering compass that strengthens my connections with both others and myself.
My journey to transform this passion into a career began with mental health workshops in high school and gained solid foundations at Bilkent University's Psychology Department. Throughout my university education, I gained valuable internship experiences at leading Turkish mental health institutions such as "Madalyon Psychiatric Center" and "Heltia."
Later, during my Master's in Clinical Psychology Practice at Kingston University in the United Kingdom, I had the opportunity to put theoretical knowledge into practice. I worked as a counselor under the supervision of an experienced clinical psychologist at "Accessible Counselling and Therapy," a non-profit organization, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Additionally, I worked as a Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs at "Zen Educate" to closely observe child psychological development. My achievements during this period earned me Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS).

"I've always found profound fulfillment in building genuine connections and supporting others on their personal journeys. I feel incredibly blessed to have found my true calling early in life and to have turned this passion into my profession."
"Everyone has their own unique story and the inner wisdom to chart their own course. I would be privileged to support you in discovering and navigating your path to growth."
My academic work deepened my perspective on mental health. During my undergraduate studies, I observed the effects of mindfulness techniques through my research on "The Impact of Reflective Journaling on Student Stress During COVID-19." In my master's thesis, I investigated "The Effects of Raja Yoga Meditation on Well-being and Sleep Patterns," which demonstrated the therapeutic benefits of mindfulness techniques.
Additionally, my undergraduate thesis on "The Relationship Between Psychological Needs and Migration Tendencies in Turkish Young Adults" was a crucial turning point in understanding the impact of sociocultural factors on mental health.
Currently, I'm opening a new chapter in my professional development journey. I'm pursuing a BACP-accredited Counselling Diploma program at The Gestalt Centre London. This training combines Gestalt therapy's theoretical foundation with practical applications. The core Gestalt principle of "here and now" guides my work with clients, inviting them to explore their inner journeys in present-moment awareness, free from past and future concerns.
As part of my commitment to ethical practice, I engage in my own regular therapy and receive supervision from an accredited supervisor. My practice is fully insured by Howden Insurance. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and strictly adhere to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines to ensure all client information is securely stored and processed.
I also work as an Assistant Psychologist at Cassiobury Court Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centre, where I conduct risk assessments, develop personalized care plans, and facilitate both individual sessions and group workshops. I offer a holistic recovery approach by incorporating mindfulness, meditation, and breathing exercises into addiction treatment.
In my work, I honor each person's unique journey with attentive presence. Drawing from both clinical experience and personal practice, I walk alongside my clients as they discover their own path toward healing and growth.
